Attention all gamers! Xbox’s online servers experienced a major outage on July 2, causing widespread issues for players trying to connect to games and services. Microsoft worked tirelessly to resolve the problem, finally announcing at 8:49 PM ET that the issues had been addressed.

Initially, Xbox remained tight-lipped about the outage, but eventually acknowledged the “major outage” on their server status website. Many players found themselves unable to log in, prompting frustration and complaints on social media.

Even popular games like Call of Duty were affected by the server troubles. Microsoft apologized for the inconvenience and assured users that they were investigating the matter.

As the 4th of July weekend approaches, Microsoft will need to quickly resolve any lingering server issues to accommodate the influx of gamers. Stay tuned for updates on GameSpot as we continue to monitor the situation. Game on!
