Trinidad and Tobago’s young table tennis stars wrapped up their participation in the 2024 Caribbean Region Table Tennis Federation Mini and Pre-Cadet Championship with a commendable performance, clinching two medals – a silver and a bronze.

In the U11 boys singles event, Zayden Sagramsingh put up a valiant fight, ultimately securing a joint bronze after a tough battle. Sagramsingh navigated his way through the quarter-final by defeating Puerto Rico’s Carlos Medina in a thrilling four-game match.

Despite a strong effort in the semi-finals against Puerto Rican Ryan Rivera, Sagramsingh fell short and had to settle for third place along with the other losing semi-finalist Kennuel Arroyo.

Sagramsingh also teamed up with Tristan Soomarie to claim silver in the U11 boys’ team event. In the final match, Soomarie won the opening singles match, but Sagramsingh faced a setback in the second singles game.

Although the pair struggled to secure another victory in the doubles tie, Sagramshing’s efforts did not go unnoticed as he fought hard in the fourth game, ultimately earning the team a well-deserved silver medal.
