Trinidad and Tobago’s athletics team is gearing up for the Paris Games with a rigorous training camp in Mulhouse, France. The team is joined by coaches Keston Bledman, Charles Joseph, and athletics manager Dexter Voisin, as well as other athletes from the Pan American region. While seasoned athletes like Keshorn Walcott and Jereem Richards are wrapping up their preparations abroad, the rest of the team has already arrived in Mulhouse and is settling in.

The training facilities in Mulhouse have been perfect for the team, with no reported injuries and practice sessions going smoothly. On July 25, the squad will head to Paris for the opening ceremony the next day, followed by their stay at the Olympic Village until the end of the games.

This year’s team is a mix of experience and youth, with veterans like Walcott and Michelle-Lee Ahye leading the pack. The younger athletes have already acclimated to the camp environment, but Voisin acknowledges that the atmosphere at the Olympic Village will be a whole different ball game.

Despite their lack of experience, the debutants have been learning from the seasoned athletes and coaches like Bledman and Joseph. The team is focused and ready to kick off their campaign on August 2, with Ahye and Bertrand set to compete in the women’s 100m qualifying round at 4:35pm (TT time).
