Top boat ends powerboat championship as Kraken

KRAKEN emerged victorious in the Trinidad and Tobago Powerboat Association National Championship season, securing the national championship title after accumulating the most points in the five-race season. The exciting finale took place at Caster Cove in Chaguaramas on July 13.

Despite finishing second in the last regatta, Kraken dominated the spec class throughout the season, finishing with an impressive 5,020 points. Adding to the thrill, Arrow clinched victory in the spec class during the final regatta, boosting their tally with 1,540 points.

The legendary local boat, Mr. Solo, made waves by winning the 130 mph class on July 13, earning 1,240 points. Meanwhile, Tyrant claimed the 95 mph class with an equal 1,240 points, Track Heatwave secured the 80 mph class title with 240 points, and Extreme Measures emerged victorious in the 70 mph class with 840 points. Additionally, Raw Knots triumphed in the 60 mph category with 1,400 points, and Ghost Operation seized the 50 mph class victory with 1,280 points.

The National Championship season serves as a crucial proving ground for participants as they prepare for the demanding annual TT Great Race, set to take place on August 17. This epic race kicks off in Trinidad and culminates in Tobago, promising thrilling competition and high-octane action for both participants and spectators alike.
