SunsetWKN raves as Lost Tribe’s Lost in Time mesmerizes audience

The North Park of the Queen’s Park Savannah was alive with excitement as patrons flocked to the Tribe Group’s SunsetWKN Launch Land event. Amidst the pulsing energy, the highly-anticipated Carnival playground showcased the upcoming mas designs for Carnival 2025 from Tribe, The Lost Tribe, Bliss, and Harts.

As the evening unfolded, attendees found themselves moving between stages to catch the spectacle of feathers, gems, and vibrant colors that adorned the costumes. Bliss and Harts stayed true to their signature styles, eliciting cheers from their loyal supporters. Meanwhile, The Lost Tribe’s Lost In Time presentation stole the spotlight with designs inspired by the band’s history, sending the crowd into a frenzy of admiration.

The themes for the four bands were unveiled: Tribe’s AGRA, The Lost Tribe’s Lost in Time, Bliss’s Aura, and Harts’s Gemstone Dreams. Each concept brought a unique blend of cultural inspiration and imagination that captivated the audience.

In a nod to tradition, moko jumbies graced the stage showcasing the fusion of past and present. Atiba Borde of The Lost Tribe shared his creative process and vision for the Fly (Sanctuary) section, which paid tribute to TT’s birds with handcrafted vegan feathers.

With the celebration of The Lost Tribe’s tenth anniversary, band leader Valmiki Maharaj spoke of the band’s growth and evolution over the years. Looking ahead to Carnival 2025, Maharaj promised nothing short of “amazingness” for the upcoming festivities.

From intricate designs to cultural storytelling, the SunsetWKN Launch Land event set the stage for a Carnival season filled with creativity, innovation, and a deep connection to the roots of masquerade art.
