Mishal Husain, a renowned BBC interviewer, has fired back at Meghan Markle’s allegations of an “orchestrated” interview conducted with her and Prince Harry during their engagement. In an article for Saga magazine, Husain expressed her bewilderment at Meghan’s claims, stating that the couple seemed to have prepared for their new lives together with joy and optimism.
Meghan and Harry have been vocal about the challenges they faced as senior royals, with Harry accusing royal correspondents of being an extension of the Palace’s PR machine. The couple now resides in California with their two young children, Archie and Lilibet, after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020.
During their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan described the BBC interview as a “rehearsed” and “orchestrated reality show,” claiming they were not allowed to tell their own story. However, the BBC vehemently denied these accusations, calling them “simply untrue.”
Husain, in response to Meghan’s claims, humorously noted that “recollections may vary on this particular subject,” echoing a phrase previously used by the late Queen Elizabeth after the Oprah interview. Kate Middleton also insisted on the same phrase being used following Meghan’s allegations about royal family members expressing concerns over the skin color of their future children.
