Hilton “Ghetto Flex” Dalzell, a prominent SOCA artiste, passed away suddenly in St Vincent on June 20, as confirmed by the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO). Known for hits like Rock Your Body, Soca Daddy, and Wine and Bend Over, which he collaborated on with Denise Belfon, Dalzell left a lasting impact on the music industry.

News of his death prompted an outpouring of condolences from his fellow artistes, including Bunji Garlin, with whom he had worked. Garlin took to Instagram to pay tribute, calling Dalzell an “OG” whose influence on music continues to resonate with artists of all generations. He praised Dalzell for his innovative approach to soca music, his willingness to take risks, and his unwavering support for his colleagues.

The passing of Hilton “Ghetto Flex” Dalzell marks the end of an era in the SOCA genre, but his legacy will continue to inspire and shape the future of Caribbean music.
