In a recent interview with Cover Band Confidential, SKID ROW drummer Rob Hammersmith opened up about the departure of singer Erik Grönwall due to health reasons. Grönwall, who joined SKID ROW as their fourth frontman after Sebastian Bach, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March 2021, making touring difficult due to his compromised immune system.

Hammersmith shared insights into the emotional rollercoaster the band has been on, balancing health concerns with the business side of things. Despite the challenges, he emphasized the hard work, loyalty, and commitment of the SKID ROW members, assuring fans that this is not the end for the band.

The drummer also discussed the possibility of SKID ROW performing with guest vocalists, following successful shows with HALESTORM’s Lzzy Hale. While no concrete plans are in place, the band is actively seeking a permanent singer for the future.

Additionally, SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan shared that they are taking their time in finding a new singer, considering auditioning a few candidates and potentially having guest vocalists for upcoming shows. Guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo highlighted the upcoming release of a live record, “Live In London,” capturing a special moment for the band.

Despite speculation about a reunion with former singer Sebastian Bach, the band has made it clear that they are focused on moving forward and creating new music. SKID ROW’s journey has been marked by ups and downs, but their dedication to their music and happiness remains unwavering.

As the band continues to navigate this transition, fans can expect more updates and exciting developments on the horizon. Stay tuned for the next chapter in the SKID ROW saga as they forge ahead, stronger than ever.
