Tennis superstar Serena Williams recently shared a hilarious story from her early career when she attempted to deposit her first $1 million check into a drive-thru ATM. During an appearance on “Hot Ones,” Williams confessed to being so focused on winning that she often forgot about claiming her earnings, playing for the love of the sport rather than money.

In a candid moment, Williams revealed that her tax person had to remind her to collect her winnings, as she was solely driven by her desire to win. Reflecting on the incident, Williams admitted, “I went through the drive-thru…the guy was like, ‘Uh, I think you need to come inside for this,’ and I was like, ‘Uh, OK.’”

Despite the embarrassing mishap, Williams saw it as just one of many lessons learned along the way. With a sense of humor, the tennis legend laughed off the incident, showcasing her down-to-earth attitude.
