Salt-N-Pepa’s Sandra “Pepa” Denton in Turbulent Situation On Southwest Airlines Flight

The legendary rapper found herself in a sticky situation recently when she was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight while traveling from Las Vegas to Nashville. But this wasn’t your average flight mishap.

Pepa, 59, took to Instagram to express her disbelief, writing, “I can’t believe @southwestair kicked me off the plane today. WOW!!! #southwest.” The artist revealed that she often takes Southwest because of its direct route to Nashville, where she had a meeting scheduled. However, this journey took an unexpected and frustrating turn on July 15.

Due to a severe knee injury from a car crash in 2018, the Let’s Talk About Sex performer purchased two seats for extra comfort and used a wheelchair service. However, a flight attendant informed her onboard that she couldn’t occupy both seats due to not wearing a knee brace at that moment.

The situation escalated when a man approached, requesting Pepa’s second seat, claiming he was going to a funeral. Despite questioning his motives and asking him to swear that he was telling the truth, the man ended up with her extra seat, leaving the Grammy-winning artist perplexed.

Things went from bad to worse when Pepa was unceremoniously removed from the flight for allegedly recording a video, which she denies doing. Law enforcement officials were waiting for her outside the aircraft, adding to the dramatic situation.

Despite rescheduling her meeting and receiving a $2,500 reimbursement for the seats, Pepa is still out $300 for the greeter and $500 for a car service she couldn’t use. Southwest Airlines provided a statement to the Daily Mail, stating, “Our Flight Crews are responsible for the Safety and Comfort of all Passengers in the cabin. With that in mind, they denied boarding to the Customer and her ticket was refunded.”

Netizens have suggested that Pepa should consider filing a lawsuit “just to make a point” following the incident. It looks like this may not be the last we hear of this turbulent tale from the high-flying rapper.
