Exciting news for Android users! Google is launching two new features that were first announced at the I/O event in May. Call casting and internet sharing are just the beginning of the company’s new “Cross-device services” that will make moving between devices a breeze, according to a report by 9to5Google.

Call casting allows users to seamlessly switch video calls from one device to another, as long as they are logged into the same Google Account. Currently, this feature only works with Google Meet, but the possibilities are endless. Simply select the Cast button, which resembles the familiar Cast/Chromecast icon, and voila, you can switch devices with ease.

Internet sharing, on the other hand, enables users to automatically share hotspot access with their own devices. This feature is compatible with Chromebooks and Android devices that are signed into the same Google Account, as long as Bluetooth and device location are enabled. Unfortunately, internet sharing does not work with Samsung devices, so Google recommends using the auto-hotspot feature as an alternative.

These exciting new features are currently available on Android 11+ devices running Google Play services version 24.28.34, which is currently in beta testing. Stay tuned for a wider rollout in the near future! Get ready to experience the seamless transition between your devices with Google’s latest innovations.
