Ten non-profit organisations are set to receive $150,000 each in funding to make a difference in their communities, thanks to a renewed partnership between the Digicel Foundation and Shell TT.
For the second year running, the two organizations are teaming up to inject $1.4 million into community development through the Extraordinary Projects Impacting Communities (EPIC) programme.
On July 4, the EPIC partnership agreement was officially sealed, with Burt Bushell from Shell TT, Desha Clifford from Digicel Foundation, and Abraham Smith from Digicel TT coming together to make the commitment.
“Partnering for progress is at the core of Shell’s social investment strategy. Our ongoing collaboration with the Digicel Foundation allows us to drive sustainable innovation and create a lasting positive impact,” said Bushell.
The EPIC programme is now open for applications until August 12, welcoming proposals in four key areas – renewable energy, environment, education, technology, and agriculture.
Non-profit organizations, including faith-based groups and schools, are urged to apply for grant funding to bring to life innovative and sustainable community projects aligned with the specified themes.
“Last year, we offered $100,000 for each project. This year, we’re upping the ante by offering up to $150,000 to select projects based on their exceptional nature and the impact they will have,” explained Clifford.
Shell TT’s contribution to this year’s EPIC initiative totals $582,500, with a total of more than $1 million invested in the program over the past two years.
With 150 EPIC projects already making an impact on over 88,000 individuals, and a total investment of $7.2 million to date, the Digicel Foundation and Shell TT are continuing to transform communities and create positive change.
