A 46-year-old man in the Princes Town district was recently charged with possession of a fake insurance certificate and has been ordered to pay a fine of $5,000. Ayo Span of St Croix Road in Princes Town entered a guilty plea in front of a master in the High Court on July 10. The master has given him three months to pay the fine, with the alternative being six weeks of hard labor in jail.

PC Ramjohn from the Princes Town municipal police laid the charge against Span. The arrest took place during a road traffic exercise co-ordinated by ASP Guzman between 9.30 and 11.30 am on July 9. In addition to Span’s charge, the police also handed out eight fixed-penalty notices to other drivers and conducted four field interview forms.
