A tragic incident unfolded in Carenage on July 20th, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old man named Arthur Amos. The young man was standing near a staircase at his home when gunshots suddenly rang out, leaving him lifeless. Another individual, a 35-year-old man from L’Anse Mitan, also fell victim to the shooting, sustaining gunshot wounds.
Quick action from residents led to the wounded man being rushed to St James Medical Facility for treatment before being transferred to another hospital for further care. Meanwhile, Amos was pronounced dead on the scene by a district medical officer.
