In a stunning debut performance, fast bowler Gus Atkinson led England’s charge on day one of the first Test match against West Indies at Lord’s on July 10. With figures of 7/45, Atkinson dismantled the West Indies lineup, bundling them out for just 121 runs in their first innings.

Despite a promising start by debutant Mickyle Louis, who scored 27 runs, the West Indies faltered as Atkinson claimed key wickets to put them on the back foot. Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope shone for England, guiding their team to a commanding lead of 68 runs by closing on 189/3.

Pacer Jayden Seales impressed for West Indies, taking 2/31, while Shamar Joseph remained wicketless. With England in a strong position, day two of the Test match promises to be an exciting encounter starting at 6 am TT time on June 11.

Summarised Scores:
WEST INDIES 121 (Mikyle Louis 27, Kavem Hodge 24; Gus Atkinson 7/45) vs ENGLAND 189/3 (Zak Crawley 76, Ollie Pope 57; Jayden Seales 2/31).
