The tournament start was pushed back due to the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, causing significant changes in the schedule. The teams are now set to play a two-day competition, followed by a 50-over tourney.

Teams like Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, TT, and hosts Windward Islands are ready to hit the field after the delay. The unique tournament format will see each team competing against their two group opponents and one team from another group in the two-day competition.

CWI director of cricket, Miles Bascombe, expressed gratitude to all involved in organizing the event and ensuring the pitches, outfields, electricity, and water services are in top-notch condition. The tournament will conclude on July 31, promising a fine balance of match time and recovery periods for the teams.

TT’s manager, Kerwin John, highlighted the team’s readiness to adapt to the revised format and their determination to avoid the mistakes of the past. With exciting matches lined up against defending champions Jamaica and hosts Windwards, TT is eager to showcase their skills and secure victories in the upcoming games.
