A 30-year-old man named Wesley Creese from Eighth Avenue, Barataria, is currently recovering from gunshot wounds after a harrowing attack by gunmen in the early hours of July 20.
According to Creese’s wife, the terrifying incident occurred around 3:30 am when he abruptly woke her up by shouting that he had been shot. She quickly realized he had sustained a gunshot wound to his stomach and immediately called for assistance. Thankfully, Creese’s two brothers were able to rush him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he received medical treatment.
Upon investigation, law enforcement officers discovered a 5.56 spent shell at the scene of the shooting. The motive behind the attack and the identity of the perpetrators remain unknown as authorities continue their inquiries. The community is left on edge as they await further updates on Creese’s condition and any developments in the case.
