In a recent interview on the Fly on the Wall podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade, 63-year-old actor John Corbett got real about his career regrets. Reflecting on his past choices, Corbett admitted that being a TV actor has left him feeling unfulfilled and that he might have taken the wrong path.
“I’m in the fourth quarter of the football game now, in life and in showbiz. It’s just a fact. So I can reveal now I picked the f—— wrong thing to do with my life,” Corbett candidly shared. Despite financial success and a glamorous lifestyle, Corbett feels a lack of fulfillment in not having contributed creatively to his projects.
Corbett cited Emma Stone as an inspiration, noting her involvement in the creative process of filmmaking. Unlike Stone, Corbett expressed frustration at not being involved in the writing or creative decisions on his projects, likening the experience to waiting in a doctor’s office.
Known for his role as Aidan Shaw in Sex and the City, Corbett recently reprised his character in the show’s revival, And Just Like That… In the upcoming season, viewers can expect to see more of Corbett alongside Sarah Jessica Parker as their characters navigate a new chapter in New York City.
As Corbett gears up for his return to the small screen, fans can anticipate the premiere of season 3 of And Just Like That… on HBO in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates on Corbett’s career and latest projects by signing up for PEOPLE’s daily newsletter.
