A home invasion in Carlsen Field, Chaguanas on July 8 turned deadly as a 27-year-old man lost his life and his father is currently in critical condition at the hospital. Christopher Christian tragically died in their home on Connector Road, while his father, Matthew Perez Christian, was injured after being shot during the incident. According to police reports, four armed gunmen entered the house just before 6 am with intentions of robbery. A struggle ensued between the father, son, and the intruders, resulting in both men being shot. Matthew Perez Christian was rushed to the Chaguanas Health Centre and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, while Christopher Christian was declared dead at the scene by a district medical officer. The Central Division and Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region Three are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
