Beloved child star Benji Gregory, known for his role as Brian Tanner on the hit 80s show ALF, has tragically passed away at the age of 46. The news of his death, which occurred on June 13, is just beginning to surface, with his sister Rebecca confirming the devastating loss.
Gregory was found deceased in a car parked at a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona, alongside his service dog, Hans. While the cause of his death is still pending, it is believed that Gregory may have succumbed to vehicular heatstroke after falling asleep in his car while attempting to deposit residual checks.
Despite his struggles with depression, bipolar disorder, and a sleep disorder, Gregory made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry. Born into a family of performers, including his father, uncle, and sister, Gregory’s acting career spanned over 100 episodes of ALF, as well as appearances in other iconic 80s TV shows and films.
In addition to his acting work, Gregory also proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 2003 to 2005 before transitioning into married life in 2006. His family has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time, suggesting that donations in Gregory’s name be made to The Actors Equity Foundation or the ASPCA, causes that were close to his heart.
The entertainment world has lost a true talent in Benji Gregory, whose legacy will continue to live on through his memorable on-screen performances and his dedication to serving his country. Rest in peace, Benji.
