Areas along the East West corridor, including Tunapuna, Port of Spain, and Arima, found themselves grappling with flash flooding following a bout of heavy rainfall on July 25th. The deluge left streets submerged, with Arima Old Road bearing the brunt of the flooding, hindering vehicular movement and causing traffic snarls.

The Meteorological Office had issued prior warnings to the public about the possibility of gusty winds and street flooding due to heavy showers, thunderstorms, and the presence of a substantial concentration of Sahara dust in the atmosphere on July 25th. Fortunately, the forecast indicated a decreased likelihood of impactful weather on the following day, although isolated heavy showers or thunderstorm activity, accompanied by gusty winds, remained a moderate possibility.

Despite the gradual improvement predicted for late afternoon and evening hours, residual bad weather persisted in various areas even after the Met Office discontinued the adverse weather alert. Residents in the affected areas were urged to remain cautious and vigilant as inclement weather patterns continued to prevail.
