Guyana emerged as the champions of the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 tournament after a thrilling match that saw them secure a 23-run victory over Leeward Islands. The match, which was played in a rain-affected T20 format, saw Guyana’s Trisha Hardat shine with an impressive four wickets for just ten runs. Thanks to Hardat’s stellar performance, Leeward Islands were bowled out for a mere 68 runs, setting the stage for Guyana’s victory.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago secured third place in the tournament after defeating Windward Islands by five wickets in a low-scoring match. Despite no batter reaching 20 runs, TT managed to chase down Windward Islands’ total of 67 runs to secure the victory.

In the fifth-place playoff, Jamaica emerged victorious over Barbados with a seven-wicket win. Moniqueca Reid’s three-wicket haul helped Jamaica restrict Barbados to 63 runs, which they successfully chased down with Chrishana McKenzie top-scoring with 21 not out.

Overall, the tournament provided an exciting display of talent from the rising stars of women’s cricket in the West Indies, with Guyana ultimately emerging as the deserving champions.
