The UWI Garden Party, themed La Festa in Giardino, was a delightful blend of sophistication and energy held on July 7 at The UWI St Augustine Campus. From 2-8 pm, attendees were treated to a showcase of jazz and soca performances by talented artists like Farmer Nappy, Vaughnette Bigford, and the D’All Starz Band.
The culinary offerings at the event were just as impressive, with a pasta station serving up delectable options like golden coconut cream spaghetti and spicy three cheese tortellini. Antipasto grazing boards, Italian handheld treats, and delightful desserts like mini cannoli cups and tiramisu in shot glasses added to the culinary experience.
Beyond the entertainment and food, the event had a noble cause as well. Proceeds from the Garden Party will go towards scholarships and bursaries for deserving students, making the celebration even more meaningful.
The festive atmosphere was captured through vibrant photos by Ayanna Kinsale, showcasing attendees enjoying the music, the performances, and the overall ambiance. From partygoers showing off their style to Minister of Youth Development and National Service Foster Cummings and his wife in attendance, the event was a true celebration of culture and community.
With snapshots of friends enjoying the party and artists like College Boy Jesse and Viking Ding Dong captivating the crowd, The UWI Garden Party was a memorable event that brought together music, food, and philanthropy in a truly engaging way.
