Trinidad and Tobago swimmer, Dylan Carter, is set to make a splash at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games as he competes in the men’s 100-metre freestyle event. This will be Carter’s third Olympic appearance, and he has the honour of being TT’s co-flag bearer with Michelle-Lee Ahye for the opening ceremony.
Carter secured his spot in the Paris Olympics by clinching a gold medal at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Fort Lauderdale back in March 2023. At 28 years old, he will be lining up in the seventh heat out of ten, with the third-best entry time of 48.16 seconds among the swimmers in his heat.
The field for the 100m freestyle event includes 79 swimmers, with the top 16 advancing to the semifinals. Carter, who holds the national record in the 100m freestyle for TT, will be aiming to showcase his best form at the Paris La Defense Arena.
Aside from the 100m freestyle, Carter will also be competing in the 50m freestyle event on August 1. With his impressive track record and experience on the world stage, all eyes will be on Carter as he represents Trinidad and Tobago at the prestigious Olympic Games.
