Drake Booed At Hometown Limp Bizkit Show…
Is there no love in the 6?! Drake may want to think twice about attending shows where he’s not the main act because, even in his hometown of Toronto, the reception isn’t always warm.
During a Limp Bizkit performance in Toronto, the mere mention of Drake’s name as a guest in attendance was enough to set the crowd off, resulting in a chorus of boos. The video footage may not show Drake actually appearing on stage, but the negative reaction was loud and clear, leaving frontman Fred Durst stunned.
As the boos intensified and some fans even shouted obscenities, Fred Durst attempted to defend Drake, questioning the hate by saying, “I thought Drake was your homie? What? No? Drake’s my homie.” Despite his efforts, the crowd’s disdain for Drake only grew stronger.
The Toronto crowd wasn’t exactly the ideal audience for Limp Bizkit’s “Loserville” tour, which also featured RiFF RAFF, Bones + Eddy Baker, N8NOFACE, and Corey Feldman. The eclectic lineup may not have been what Drake fans were expecting, but the hometown booing was certainly a tough pill to swallow.
In response to the backlash, Drake released a pair of new tracks with his longtime collaborator Gordo, suggesting that maybe it’s time for him to stick to performances where he’s the main event. Only time will tell if this hometown booing incident will impact Drake’s future appearances.
