The Joint Chambers –  Amcham, the Energy Chamber, TTMA and TT Chamber – have joined forces to establish a relief account for donations aimed at aiding disaster response efforts. In a statement, the Chambers outlined their intentions to issue funds to trusted NGOs with a proven track record, or to procure specific items listed as critical by national response agencies like OPDM.

This initiative underscores the Trinidad and Tobago private sector’s commitment to supporting disaster-stricken areas, both locally and regionally. By collaborating with authorities, private-sector partners, and NGOs, the Chambers have previously provided essential relief items, equipment, supplies, and expertise in post-disaster scenarios.

To ensure that relief efforts are efficient and effective, the Chambers stressed the importance of adhering to national priority lists and avoiding unnecessary donations that may hinder distribution logistics.

They emphasized the value of financial contributions over physical donations, as monetary support enables relief agencies to purchase critical items at the right moment. Interested donors can contribute to the cause by depositing funds in designated bank accounts held by the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago/Joint Chambers:

For TT$ Currency:
– Bank: First Citizens Bank Ltd, Pt Lisas
– Account Number: 2818368
– Account Type: Chequing

For US$ Currency:
– Bank: First Citizens Bank Ltd, Pt Lisas
– Account Number: 2818367
– Account Type: Savings

By channeling resources through this dedicated account, individuals can play a vital role in facilitating targeted assistance to those in need in a timely and efficient manner.
