Alderon Games, the brilliant minds behind the popular dinosaur MMO Path of Titans, are making a bold move. They’ve announced that they are ditching their Intel 13th and 14th Gen-based servers in favor of AMD. And they’re not keeping quiet about it – they’re urging other server hosts for the game to make the switch as well.

According to Alderon founder Matthew Cassells, the decision to switch to AMD comes after facing “significant” instability issues that have persisted despite multiple attempted fixes. In a recent blog post, Cassells revealed that their crash reporting tools have identified “thousands of crashes” on gamers’ CPUs. Not only that, but the processors have also been linked to potential corruption of SSDs and memory. In fact, Cassells believes that 100% of the affected CPUs will deteriorate over time, eventually failing.

However, not everyone is in agreement about the extent of the issue. RAD Game Tools, a company that specializes in Unreal Engine decompression tools, has stated that only a small fraction of the affected processors are actually experiencing problems. Despite this discrepancy, Alderon Games is standing firm in their decision to make the switch to AMD.

This news comes shortly after a developer for the game Warframe reported that the majority of crashes they were seeing were due to driver failures in 13th and 14th Gen Intel processors. While some issues were resolved with a BIOS update, Intel has stated that this particular problem is not the main cause of instability.

It’s clear that Alderon Games is not taking any chances when it comes to ensuring a stable and reliable gaming experience for their players. Only time will tell if their decision to switch to AMD will pay off in the long run.
