The Trinidad and Tobago Under-14 boys’ football team is gearing up for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U14 Challenge Series tournament, with their first match against Aruba scheduled for August 17 at the Dwight Yorke Stadium. The team, under the guidance of former World Cup midfielder Densill Theobald, has been preparing diligently in the TTFA High Performance program.

Theobald, serving as head coach, expressed excitement to lead the young team in a regional competition on home turf. He commended the players’ hard work and eagerness to learn, emphasizing the significance of the upcoming tournament in measuring their progress. As the boys aim to test themselves against international players, Theobald acknowledged the sacrifices made by both the players and their families to reach this point.

The CFU U14 Challenge Series will feature 24 Caribbean nations, with Trinidad and Tobago grouped alongside Jamaica, Martinique, and St Kitts/Nevis. The tournament will serve as a valuable opportunity for the team to identify areas for improvement and continue their development. Theobald also praised the TTFA’s High Performance program for promoting growth opportunities for young coaches and players alike.

The tournament is set to take place from August 16-25, with further details on groups and fixtures to be announced by the CFU. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting competition!
