Barbados regains momentum in rally against Trinidad and Tobago U-19 men after top-order stumble

Barbados’ under-19 men’s cricketers showed resilience on the first day of their Cricket West Indies’ Rising Stars Men’s under-19 Two-day Championship match against Trinidad and Tobago. Facing a tough situation at 84 for seven, Barbados battled back to declare at 200 for nine, thanks in large part to a standout performance from number nine batsman Jatario Prescod. Prescod’s 55 not out was pivotal in guiding his team to a strong position heading into day two.

In response, Barbados bowlers made key breakthroughs to leave Trinidad and Tobago on 51 for three at the end of play, giving Barbados a 149-run lead. Prescod continued his stellar day by claiming the wicket of TT opener Kyle Ramdoo early on. Despite a brief partnership between Justin Jagessar and Kavir Boodoosingh, Barbados managed to take quick wickets towards the end of the day’s play, leaving TT in a challenging position.
