A 29-year-old man, Lindon Thompson, faced a San Fernando magistrate on July 22, where bail was denied in connection with housebreaking and larceny offences totaling over $100,000 worth of items. Thompson, hailing from Claxton Bay, was remanded into police custody until his next court appearance on August 20. PC Meah from the St Margaret’s Police Station brought forth the charges against him. The court was informed of an outstanding warrant for another housebreaking, as well as three pending matters on similar offenses against Thompson.

The most recent charge alleges that Thompson broke into a woman’s residence in Claxton Bay on July 17 and made off with electronics, tools, jewelry, and other belongings totaling $100,303. The homeowner reported locking her house before stepping out in the morning, only to return in the afternoon to find a window forced open. CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying Thompson as the suspect in the theft.

Following the report to St Margaret’s police, Cpl Modeste, PC Meah, and WPC Ransome initiated an investigation. Subsequently, the team tracked down Thompson at the Union Recreation Community Centre in Claxton Bay, where his arrest was made. Additionally, two stolen laptops were allegedly recovered from a bag in Thompson’s possession.
