Get ready, Apple fans, because the iPhone 16 lineup is set to make its debut this September! While we can expect the usual upgrades to the display, camera, and other hardware, the real excitement lies in the inclusion of generative AI features, all thanks to Apple Intelligence taking center stage. With high demand anticipated for the upcoming models, reports suggest that Apple is gearing up to mass produce up to 100 million A18 chipsets to power four new handsets.

That’s right, the A18 and A18 Pro are set to steal the show later this year, with Apple likely introducing some specification differences to set the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max apart from the rest. While some analysts may be skeptical about the new features, China Times is reporting estimated sales of 90-100 million units for the iPhone 16 lineup, keeping the hype alive.

But let’s not forget, the A18 and A18 Pro are not one and the same. The base models, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, will feature the A18 chipset, while the top-end models, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, will be powered by the A18 Pro, offering even better performance. Rumors suggest that these chipsets will bring improved power efficiency and performance, thanks to TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm ‘N3E’ process.

However, one potential drawback to the iPhone 16 series could be the lack of RAM, with all models expected to sport just 8GB. This might limit the full potential of the generative AI features running on-device. Additionally, while the A18 and A18 Pro may feature larger die sizes to accommodate upgrades, the 6-core GPU configuration might remain the same, which could impact graphical performance.

We may not know yet which iPhone 16 model will be in higher demand, but we can expect more details to emerge in the coming months as we dive deeper into the capabilities of the A18 series. So, keep your eyes peeled for more updates as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the iPhone 16 lineup. Stay tuned, folks!
