Apple just shook up the smart speaker game with the release of its sleek new HomePod Mini in a striking “midnight” color. This dark hue is reminiscent of the classic space gray, but the new name aligns it perfectly with the midnight HomePod second-gen released last year. Set to hit shelves on July 17th in the US and 31 other countries, this stylish addition will still be priced at $99.

Initially launched in space gray and white, the HomePod Mini later expanded its color palette with yellow, orange, and blue options. Apple boasts that this new Mini is crafted with 100% recycled mesh, a step up from the previous 90% recycled material used in the smart speaker’s design.

Despite its new look, the price, features, and overall design of the HomePod Mini remain consistent. Equipped with Siri, temperature and humidity sensors, intercom capabilities among other Siri-enabled speakers, and the ability to detect smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, this gadget is a powerhouse of convenience.

While the differences between space gray and midnight may not be glaringly obvious, Apple’s attention to detail is certainly noteworthy. And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to line up a space gray and midnight HomePod Mini for a quiz with friends and family? The excitement is palpable.

So, mark your calendars for July 17th and get ready to add a touch of midnight magic to your smart speaker collection. The new HomePod Mini is here to elevate your tech game in style.
