The Trinidad and Tobago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (TTSPCA) and the Animal Welfare Network (AWN) have issued a call for donations for Carriacou in Grenada. The urgent appeal, posted on both organizations’ social media pages on July 2, aims to help the animals affected by the recent hurricane devastation in the region.
The TTSPCA and AWN emphasized the need for quick action, as volunteers are set to depart with boats in the next two days. They are requesting items such as water, dog and cat food, canned goods, rice, and basic medical supplies for wound care.
Those looking to contribute can drop off donations at the TTSPCA Port of Spain shelter located at 21 Christopher Samuel Drive, Mucurapo Road, St James. The organizations will then coordinate the delivery of supplies to the boats transporting the items to Carriacou.
Additionally, Venus: Doggess of Love, a Tobago-based NGO specializing in animal rescue and welfare, is also calling for donations to support Carriacou and other hurricane-affected regions. Their social media page highlighted the lack of animal-related aid amidst the numerous appeals for human resources.
Donors can drop off items at 80 Lower Boundary Road, San Juan, with specific instructions to ask for Kerry at 480-2342 and mention “Venus for Carriacou” when making donations. For further assistance or inquiries, individuals can contact 680-3795.
Your contributions can make a significant impact on the animals in need during this challenging time. Let’s come together to support these vulnerable creatures and provide them with the care and resources they deserve.
