Trinidad and Tobago’s Andrew Rambaran showcased his talent with a stroke-filled unbeaten century in the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 Two-Day Championship match against Jamaica. Despite his heroic effort, the match ended in a draw at Park Hill Playing Field in Colonarie, St Vincent on July 15.

Rambaran’s magnificent innings of 109 not out, which included 14 fours and three sixes off 132 deliveries, was not enough to secure a victory for his team. The second day saw half of the play lost due to rain, but when the game resumed, TT declared their first innings at 250/9 after starting the day on 171/7.

Rambaran, who was unbeaten at 49 overnight, formed a crucial partnership with Jacen Agard, adding 90 runs for the eighth wicket to guide TT to 236 before Agard was dismissed for 25 off 78 balls.

Jamaica had declared at 169/9 on day one, leaving TT with a lead of 81 runs on first innings. In their second innings, Jamaica closed the day at 97/2, with Adrian Weir leading the charge with a brisk 56 off 32 balls, supported by Jordan Johnson with 28 not out.

The match ultimately ended in a draw, as did the other round two fixtures. The competition will now move into the third and final preliminary round on July 17, with the top two teams from the group phase set to compete for the title on July 20 and 21.

After the completion of the two-day competition, a 50-over tournament is scheduled to begin on July 23. Fans can look forward to more thrilling cricket action as the Rising Stars Under-19 Championship continues to showcase young talent.

Round three fixtures are as follows:

TT vs Windward Islands at Park Hill

Jamaica vs Leeward Islands at Cumberland

Barbados vs Guyana at Arnos Vale
