UNC Oropouche West MP Davendranath Tancoo has made bold claims about Prime Minister Rowley, calling him the “laziest PM ever.” But is he really comparing Rowley to the right person? If he is referring to his own party leader, then he may be doing her a disservice.

Criticism about someone being lazy is a serious allegation, especially when it comes to Rowley. He can often be seen diligently working in Parliament, attending meetings and public functions, and representing Trinidad and Tobago both regionally and internationally. Rowley’s work ethic is evident as he chairs important councils and maintains a busy schedule for the betterment of the country.

One only needs to glance at Rowley’s packed calendar to see that he works tirelessly for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Unlike some, he does not take weekends off and is always prepared to speak eloquently and persuasively, whether in Parliament or in any public setting – all without relying on notes or technology.

So, is Rowley really lazy, Tancoo? It’s hard to believe when considering his dedication to his duties. After all, a lazy person couldn’t possibly juggle the responsibilities that Rowley does, let alone find time for a game of golf. Before casting judgments, maybe it’s worth taking a closer look at the comparison between Rowley and other leaders.
