The tragic death of Mahendra Ramdial, a 27-year-old prison officer, has left his widow, Sharece Ramroop-Ramdial, shattered. Ramdial was killed on July 28 while trying to help two drivers involved in an accident on the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Massy Food Store. His helpful nature proved fatal as he was struck by a van while offering assistance.

Ramroop-Ramdial described her late husband as a loving and caring individual who always went out of his way to help others in need. She tearfully shared that they had been married for less than a year, but it was the best time of her life. Ramdial’s commitment to his job and his eagerness to help anyone in need made him a beloved figure among his family and friends.

Despite the tragedy, Ramroop-Ramdial wants her husband to be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to serving others. Family members and relatives echoed similar sentiments, highlighting his strong work ethic, ambition, and integrity.

As the family mourns the untimely loss of Ramdial, they find solace in the fond memories of his selfless nature and compassionate spirit. His aunt, Reshma Ramnath, shared that he joined the prison service four years ago and had always been known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, even in times of personal hardship.
