Trinidad and Tobago secured an eighth-place finish at the Davis Cup Americas Group IV tournament held at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua on July 27.

In the battle for seventh place against Haiti, TT unfortunately fell short with a 2-1 loss. The local team of Tim Pasea and Kamran Macintosh-Ross struggled to finish the final doubles match.

Macintosh-Ross claimed victory in the first singles tie with a score of 6-4, 6-4 against Luckens Dorcely. However, Luca Shamsi was defeated in the second singles match with a score of 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 against Christopher Bogelin.

As the doubles match loomed, TT had to forfeit, resulting in a 2-1 win for Haiti.

On the other hand, in the promotional playoff matches, both Aruba and Honduras emerged victorious. They will now be moving up to Group III of the Americas.

Aruba secured a 2-0 win against Nicaragua, while Honduras triumphed over Cuba with a 2-1 score. The tournament wrapped up on July 27.
