Worshippers attending Sunday morning mass in St Ann’s were shocked by the sound of gunshots ringing out near their church. A 33-year-old man, identified as Nickel Morris, was shot and killed in a brazen attack just as he returned home with breakfast in hand.

Surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when at least two gunmen in a silver wagon ambushed Morris as he exited his car. In a matter of seconds, the gunmen opened fire, striking Morris multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The shooting took place just a stone’s throw away from the Prime Minister’s residence, sending residents and witnesses into a panic. Despite the commotion, Morris’s body was swiftly removed from the scene, leaving his parked car as the only reminder of the tragic event.

Speaking to Newsday, a shopkeeper hinted that Morris may have been targeted in the past but refrained from speculating on the motive behind the attack. This incident comes on the heels of another violent crime in the area, where Che Mendez, an employee of Massy Distribution, was killed during a robbery earlier in the month.
