In a recent episode of “The Metallica Report,” METALLICA frontman James Hetfield shared the inside scoop on how he came up with the logo for METALLICA’s All Within My Hands foundation. According to Hetfield, the inspiration came from the song “All Within My Hands.” He decided to trace his hand and incorporate a keyhole, symbolizing the idea of unlocking the knowledge that it is better to give than to receive.
Hetfield expressed the joy he finds in helping others without seeking recognition, emphasizing the importance of giving back. The foundation, dedicated to supporting workforce education, fighting hunger, and providing disaster relief, has raised over $15 million to date, with 100% of donations going directly to those in need.
The fourth “Helping Hands Concert & Auction” is set to take place on December 13 at YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, promising a night of music and philanthropy. Previous events raised millions of dollars, with appearances from celebrities like Robert Downey Jr. and performances by GRETA VAN FLEET and METALLICA.
All Within My Hands aims to create sustainable communities and engage fans in philanthropy and volunteerism. With expenses covered by the band and board, every donation goes toward supporting worthwhile causes.
In partnership with local organizations, All Within My Hands continues to make a positive impact on communities around the world. The foundation’s commitment to transparency and integrity ensures that funds are used efficiently to help those in need.
With the appointment of executive director Peter Delgrosso in 2022, All Within My Hands looks to the future with optimism. Through initiatives like the “The Metallica Blacklist” compilation, which raised over $1 million in donations, METALLICA and their fans are actively contributing to meaningful change in the world.
