Get ready, gamers, because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is coming to Xbox Game Pass on July 24! Microsoft has officially confirmed this exciting news, following a flurry of reports. But that’s not all – according to Deadline, plans for a fourth installment in the Modern Warfare series are currently in the works.
The date was first spilled during the XboxEra podcast, with leaker eXtas1s and Insider-Gaming both backing it up. Microsoft has a habit of dropping Game Pass announcements on Tuesdays, and this time was no exception. On Tuesday, July 23, the company revealed that Modern Warfare III will be hitting Game Pass on July 24.
Starting on July 24, subscribers to Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate will be able to dive into the action of Modern Warfare III. Unfortunately, the game won’t be available on any other Game Pass tier.
As the most recent installment in the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare III hit the scene in November 2023. It’s also the first Call of Duty game to join Game Pass since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard last year.
But the fun doesn’t stop there – July 24 also marks the arrival of Season 5 for Call of Duty titles like Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile. Get ready for a jam-packed week of epic Call of Duty gameplay, complete with new battle pass items and BlackCell DLC.
Looking ahead, the beta for Black Ops 6 kicks off in August, leading up to the game’s full release at the end of October. Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass right away, but only for those on the higher-priced tiers. So, if you’re itching to dive into the latest Black Ops adventure, make sure to snag the appropriate Game Pass subscription.
And let’s not forget about the potential for a fourth Modern Warfare game. While details are scarce, an interview with Barry Sloane, who portrays Price in the Modern Warfare series, hinted at the possibility. With the incredible success of the franchise thus far, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see another installment in the works. Stay tuned, fellow gamers – the future of Call of Duty looks brighter than ever.
