In a shocking revelation, doctors and nurses in Gaza have reported that the Israeli military is targeting medical facilities, detaining and even killing medical staff. The Israeli military claims these facilities are being used by Hamas, but the scenes unfolding are nothing short of devastating.

Witnesses describe tanks rolling through hospital grounds, gunfire ringing out, and patients being killed or injured in brutal raids. Doctors like Dr. Ahmed Almoghrabi have fled for their lives, fearing for the safety of their families.

Tragically, many medical professionals who chose to stay behind have been imprisoned or killed. The deliberate targeting of doctors and medical facilities has left Gaza’s healthcare system in shambles, with more than 50 specialist doctors and 20 hospitals destroyed since the conflict began.

Despite Israeli claims of Hamas using hospitals for military purposes, doctors on the ground have seen no evidence of this. Instead, they are left to mourn the loss of their colleagues and friends, sharing news of deaths and disappearances in a grim WhatsApp group.

The situation for medical workers in Gaza is dire, with reports of torture, disappearances, and denial of medical care in Israeli detention facilities. The loss of experienced doctors will have a long-lasting impact on Gaza’s health care system, which will take years to recover from.

As the conflict rages on, the need for medical treatment continues to grow, putting even more strain on a system already pushed to its limits. But despite the devastation, there is hope that one day Al Shifa Medical Hospital will rise again, serving as a beacon of hope for the people of Gaza.
