Charlotteville Heritage Performers dominated the Folk Fiesta competition held at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex in Tobago on July 21. The Tobago Festivals Commission Ltd announced the results on July 23, unveiling a stellar performance by the group.
Charlotteville Heritage Performers clinched the top spot in three categories: British-influenced folk dance, calypso song, and speech band. In addition, they secured a second-place finish in the folk song medley and drumology categories, showcasing their versatility and talent.
The competition featured six categories, with Charlotteville Heritage Performers standing out against tough competition. Their energetic performances wowed the judges and the audience, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the folk music scene.
Among the other groups that participated in the competition were Rhythmic Vibrations, Youth Quake, Rhythm Babes, Mt Cullane Cultural Group, Encore Dance Theatre, Delecia’s Dance Jewels, Y’Aim Drummers, Charlotteville Police Youth Club, Roxborough Police Youth Club, and Whim Anglican Primary School.
