In an exciting finale, Club Sando emerged victorious over Defence Force in the Women Warriors Wellness invitational football competition. The promising teenager Nikita Gosine shone bright, clinching the Player of the Tournament award for her stellar performance.
The tournament, featuring six teams including the Grenada national women’s team and a TTFA High Performance team, culminated in a thrilling clash between Club Sando and Defence Force. Club Sando showcased their 2023 TT Women’s League Football pedigree by taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the first half.
Gosine, fresh from standout performances in earlier matches, proved her worth by scoring a brilliant goal in the 22nd minute. With another goal from Chrissy Mitchell, Club Sando looked poised to claim victory. Defence Force managed to pull one back through Asha James, but it wasn’t enough to derail Club Sando’s title ambitions.
As the final whistle blew, Club Sando celebrated their well-deserved win, with Gosine rightfully clinching her third consecutive Player of the Match award. Aaliyah Prince of Defence Force was also recognized with the Golden Boot award.
