The Board of Directors of NATIONAL Petroleum Marketing Company Limited (NP) has responded to allegations made by the Oilfield Workers Trade Union (OWTU) regarding the company. During a picket outside the home of chairman Sahid Hosein, OWTU president general Ancel Roget accused NP of nepotism, questionable re-hiring practices, and firing a whistleblower.

In a statement released by NP’s board, it was clarified that two meetings had taken place with the OWTU executive to address the concerns raised. The company committed to conducting both an internal investigation overseen by senior IT personnel and an external forensic investigation by an independent entity. The internal investigation revealed a technical glitch in the system that resulted in scores being incorrectly recorded for eight individuals, including the manager in question.

Despite the allegations, NP expressed confidence in the efforts made by the manager to improve HR practices within the company. The decision to renew the manager’s contract was fully supported by all board members. Furthermore, NP denied claims of dismissing a whistleblower and emphasized its commitment to integrity, fair play, and justice for all employees.

The board refuted accusations of the chairman acting unilaterally and clarified that all important decisions were made collectively. Additionally, NP dismissed claims of favoritism towards contractors, asserting that natural justice applies to everyone within the organization.

NP’s board affirmed its dedication to upholding integrity and ensuring justice for all employees, regardless of their position within the company.
