After nine years in office, it is clear that the current prime minister has failed to address the pressing issue of crime in the country. Despite promises of solutions during their campaign, the reality is that crime continues to run rampant in every community.
The recent spike in murders over the weekend further highlights the ineffective leadership in tackling this issue. The prime minister’s rhetoric of enforcing the “full brunt of the law” falls flat in the face of continued violence and criminal activity.
From petty crimes like littering to more serious offenses like home invasions and murders, no one feels safe in Trinidad and Tobago anymore. The lack of law and order is evident, with corruption and public scandals further eroding the trust in government.
It is time for the prime minister and their administration to take responsibility for the state of the nation. The failed governance and lackluster leadership have brought Trinidad and Tobago to the brink of ruin, and immediate action is needed to address the escalating crime rates.
