The TT Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) has been a hub for connecting businesses, investors, and innovators for the past 25 years. Recently, the TTMA confirmed that the convention has generated over $1 billion in revenue for exhibitors since its inception in 1999. This year’s event showcased 325 booths from 293 organizations, attracting buyers from 32 countries.
The TTMA expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, bmobile business, Eximbank, and the Balroop Group for their support and contribution to the success of TIC. The convention not only facilitated business-to-business deals but also provided educational seminars and webinars to help businesses grow and thrive.
One of the standout sectors at this year’s TIC was food and beverage, with companies like Entegra Culinary Consulting Services seeking to partner with local businesses to expand their market internationally. The convention also served as a platform for smaller businesses to interact with industry leaders and explore collaboration opportunities.
Looking at the broader economic landscape, the non-energy manufacturing sector has been identified as a key driver of economic growth in Trinidad and Tobago. According to reports from the IMF and the Central Bank, the sector contributes significantly to the country’s GDP and exports.
Overall, the success and impact of TIC highlight the importance of collaboration, innovation, and connectivity in driving the growth of the manufacturing sector in Trinidad and Tobago.
