Joe Manganiello has had enough of the rumors swirling around his divorce from Sofia Vergara. Despite claims that their marriage ended because of a disagreement over having kids, Joe is setting the record straight.
In an interview with Men’s Journal, the actor revealed that he and Sofia had actually discussed starting a family early on in their relationship. He made it clear to her that if she was done having kids, he would understand. They even tried for children during the first year and a half of their marriage.
While Joe admits he did want kids, he wants to make it clear that their split was not solely due to that reason. He believes they simply grew apart, something that he acknowledges is common in marriages.
Frustrated by how he has been portrayed in the media following Sofia’s comments, Joe expressed his disappointment. He wants to set the record straight that he never gave Sofia an ultimatum about having children, nor did he go through a midlife crisis.
Despite the tensions surrounding their divorce, Joe and Sofia were able to settle things amicably in February. Both parties have moved on to new relationships – Joe with Caitlyn O’Connor and Sofia with Justin Saliman.
As for Sofia’s camp, they have yet to respond to requests for comment. But Joe is not letting the rumors and speculation get to him. He’s standing firm in his truth and moving forward with his life.
