KARA’s Park Gyuri has hit a temporary pause on her activities following a serious facial injury.

Big Boss Entertainment, her agency, announced on July 13 that the talented singer had recently sustained both a cheekbone fracture and an orbital fracture. Park Gyuri will need surgery to address these injuries, prompting her to cancel all her commitments for the month of July to focus on her recovery.

While Park Gyuri takes the time she needs to heal, her group KARA is gearing up for their highly-anticipated comeback after a two-year hiatus. Scheduled to release their new single album “I DO I DO” on July 24, fans are eagerly awaiting their return.

The full statement from Big Boss Entertainment reads:

“Hello, this is Big Boss Entertainment. We regret to inform you that actress Park Gyuri has suffered an unfortunate cheekbone and orbital fracture during a personal engagement. After a thorough examination and advice from her doctor, surgery is necessary for her recovery, which will take approximately four to five weeks. Park Gyuri will not be participating in any activities scheduled for July to prioritize her health and well-being. Big Boss Entertainment is committed to supporting her recovery and ensuring her safety above all else. We appreciate your understanding and well wishes during this time.”
