The mother of missing 21-year-old Oreon Gomez from Blanchisseuse, Sharon Chapman, is still hoping and praying for a miracle. Gomez, a tour guide for hikers, disappeared on August 26 last year after leaving home to go on a date in Arima with a woman he met on social media. Chapman sympathizes with the family of missing TT RideShare driver Shakem Charles, 32, from Moruga.
Chapman reveals that since Gomez’s disappearance, she has had multiple dreams about him, but longs to speak to him in real life. She refuses to believe her son is dead and remains hopeful for his safe return.
Police in Arima are still investigating Gomez’s case, with no arrests or charges made so far. Meanwhile, the Charles family in Moruga has offered a $15,000 reward for any information on Shakem’s whereabouts. Shakem, a father of two who works in Port of Spain, went missing on July 9 after becoming a part-time TT RideShare driver to earn extra income.
His car was found abandoned in Valencia, and his last contact was with his mother around 2 pm on July 9. The family is still holding out hope for good news and is actively searching for him with the support of authorities.
As the search continues, social media users and concerned citizens are pleading for the safe return of both missing individuals. The community is coming together to support the families and pray for positive outcomes. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, and various law enforcement agencies are involved in both cases.
