In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Zoe Kravitz opens up about the title change for her directorial debut film, Blink Twice, originally named P—y Island. Despite initial resistance, Kravitz decided to rebrand after realizing the word ’p—y’ was not ready to be embraced by society. The decision came after feedback from women who found the title off-putting and potentially alienating to audiences.

Engaged to Channing Tatum, who stars in the film, Kravitz felt a responsibility to prioritize the comfort of viewers over personal values. Blink Twice, co-written with E.T. Feigenbaum, follows Naomi Ackie as Frida, a cocktail waitress drawn into a mysterious island party orchestrated by a tech mogul portrayed by Tatum. A tale of intrigue unfolds as Frida’s friend disappears, leaving her questioning the island’s true nature.

Although Kravitz stands by the empowering intent of the original title, she acknowledges that the newly named film better encapsulates its essence. With a star-studded cast including Kyle MacLachlan and Gina Davis, Blink Twice is set to hit theaters on August 23. Check out the trailer for a glimpse into this thrilling cinematic experience!
